Lush Bunny Bubble Bar

This little cutie is the Lush Bunny Bubble Bar and, unsurprisingly, is part of Lush’s Easter collection. Okay, so it doesn’t massively look like a bunny, but they gave it a shot.

Lush describe this as having the same fragrance as the Creamy Candy bubble bar but I haven’t tried that so I can’t verify the claim. However, I can describe the scent for you. It has a very gentle, subtle fragrance, which reminds me of the white part of The Comforter Bubble Bar. It’s a bit soapy and like traditional bubble bath, but apparently it’s a mixture of vanilla, shea butter and coconut oil.

I was surprised when I started crumbling this under my running tap, because it isn’t white the entire way through. In fact, only a thin layer on the top is. The rest is a pink colour. It turned my water a mauve colour, which was quite sophisticated. After a while i noticed the tiny cornflower petals floating in the water. At first I thought they were cute, but then they started to annoy me. I also found the bunny’s eyes floating by me, as they didn’t seem to dissolve.

Overall I would say this bubble bar is mediocre. The scent didn’t wow me and all the bits in the bath were kind of annoying. This seems to be Lush’s new “thing” but I think it needs to stop now.

Easter Gift Ideas

Easter is not so far away now and if, like me, you gave something up for lent, you will probably be pretty excited. Of course Easter is the time we give chocolate eggs as gifts, but it’s worth remembering that there are lots of other things you can give as gifts at Easter time. Here are some of those, along with some more unusual ways of giving chocolate.

Lush Carrot Gift Set

Lush has some really awesome Easter bath goodies, and this set contains some of my favourites. The Golden Egg especially smells absolutely heavenly.

Yankee Candle Spring Votive Set

Candles make great gifts and you can’t beat Yankee Candle for quality. Yankee Candle actually have two specific Easter scents, but I find them super sickly and unappealing. These spring floral smells are much nicer as they are really fresh and really bring spring alive in your room. Pink Hibisucs especially is a gorgeous scent, and luckily you get two of those!

Hotel Chocolat Egg and Chips

As well as their fantastic Easter eggs, Hotel Chocolat has some really unusual Easter chocolate. I love this fun egg and chips set. It has a  white chocolate and vanilla egg with a soft caramel yolk and milk chocolate, caramel-filled chips. Yum!

Creme Egg Tree

It’s a tree made of Cadbury’s Creme Eggs, what more do I need to say? This would be perfect for the Creme Egg fiend in your life. It comes in four different sizes, holding from 22 to 100 Creme Eggs!

Easter Bunny Fairy Lights

I think these bunny lights are super adorable and would really add a fun Easter touch to your bedroom or living your. I love the idea of presenting them in a bowl of hay like this (although keep an eye on them!) or you could hang them up.

Carrot Whisk

If you have a keen baker to buy for, what about this quirky carrot shaped whisk. It would make a really fun, unusual gift.

Easter Jewellery

Jewellery is a great Easter gift and I would highly recommend checking out Neat Eats on Etsy for some unusual ideas. I can vouch for them being excellent quality. Two of my favourites from the Easter collection are the birds nest eggs and the hot cross bun ring.

Easter/Mother’s Day Lush Haul

As a little Easter treat to myself (okay so Easter is over a month away, but you get the idea) I ordered a few of the limited edition Easter and Mother’s Day bath treats from the website. This was always going to be a bit risky as I didn’t have chance to smell them before buying, but it’s always good to take risks in life! Here’s what I bought and my first impressions (reviews to follow most likely):

Easter Collection

Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar

These carrots, like the wands from Lush, are designed to be swished around the bath multiple times to create bubbles. Lush describes the fragrance as “buchu, lemon and bergamot oils” for a “tropical, fruity and refreshing bath”. I would say that there’s a hint of something else like liquorice in there as well.

Golden Egg Bath Bomb

This cute little golden egg smells like Honey I Washed the Kids (really sweet and creamy like honey, just totally delicious). It is a bit unusual as it has a bath melt outer layer and a bath bomb centre. I’m really excited to try this but I think glitter will go everywhere.

Bunny Bubble Bar

This  little bubble bar smells of vanilla like the Creamy Candy bubble bar. I’m not sure it’s entirely bunny shaped though. It is filled with skin softening shea butter and coconut oil and apparently has little blue cornflowers inside.

Mother’s Day Collection

Secret Garden Bath Bomb

I largely bought this because I thought it looked really sweet. It has rose, sweet wild orange and rosewood oil to create a largely floral fragrance, which is not normally my thing, but Lush says “Once placed in the bath, you’ll be treated to a beautiful bouquet, with rose petals, marigold, blue mallow flowers and yellow rose buds” which sounded really interesting.

Rose Bubble Bar

Finally, I bought the rose bubble bar, which looks very much like the Comforter bubble bar but is supposed to smell of Turkish rose with a hint of lemon. I’m a bit disappointed because it is way smaller than I expected. We shall see what it’s like though.

A little something extra

Lush also gave me a little sample of the It’s Raining Men shower gel which smells like caramel or toffee! I’m excited to try this out.

Have you tried any of these products, or any of the other Lush limited edition products for Easter or Mother’s Day? I’d be really interested to hear what you think!
